During the COVID-19 pandemic NSW Health created temporary vaccination centres to accelerate the overall vaccination rate in NSW. One of those centres was set up at the Qudos Bank Arena, HD Group was engaged as the preferred builder.

Works were carried out in a very short time frame whilst constantly adhering to the NSW Health COVID-19 Public Health Guidelines. HD temporarily transformed the Qudos Bank Arena into a vaccination centre by installing internal partition walls to create cubicles for clinic rooms, testing bays and vaccination bays. Other works included installation of vinyl flooring, signage, fire services, hoardings to create circulation spaces, marquees, and scaffolding.

Once completed, the temporary vaccination centre helped vaccinate over 20,000 students before it was opened to the general public with a capacity to deliver up to 1,000 vaccine doses per day.
